You can’t always be sure when the appliances and pipework in your new property were last serviced and checked.
It's the biggest purchase of your life, and small mistakes can be expensive to put right. Knowing that any existing gas appliances and the central heating work prior to actually needing them can be a serious bonus. It's wise to make sure that the boiler is run up to temperature on both heating and hot water in addition to just turning on.
Your vendor should be able to provide you with a Gas Safety Record showing that a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer has checked the gas installation pipework and appliances. If they’re unable to do this, Update Boilers can provide this service which would include a boiler safety check, a visual risk assessment of all additional gas appliances and gas-pipework from the gas meter location (what can be observed) including a soundness test to verify there are no gas escapes. On completion, we can provide a detailed gas safety record giving you complete peace of mind and one less task to worry about.
